Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Ok, I'm moving 8am Saturday. I can either get up at 6am to start draining the tank (I really don't want to do that) or I can drain it the night before, leaving enough water to cover their shells. That would mean no heater, no filter, no lamp for the night. Temp in my house goes down to around 68 at night so I assume the water would be a few degrees cooler. Which would be better? I just don't want to stress them out any more than I need to.

My turts are fine if they go out of water overnight. If you provide a dark corner and a shirt or towel, they'll likely take a nap. It's fun to watch them wake up... mine like to poke their heads out for a few minutes, yawn a couple of times then stretch their legs. :)

I kept Tilly out of the water overnight when I was changing to the stock tank. I put him in his feeding dishpan and covered it with a cloth. He just pulled into his shell and went to sleep until morning.
