General Care Discussion :: Dry Nights as Preventative Care?

After a recent bout with some shell fungus, I have an unorthodox dry-docking question. Is it safe to put my sliders in a "dry pen" on a nightly basis, even when they don't have fungus? (Of course, they would spend the daytime hours in a pond, or, in the winter, their aquariums).

Or is this too much dry time?

I wouldn't say its too much drying time, but it might be unnecessary since it's treatable in most cases. This will probably add a bit of stress to your turtle's regular day.

I often dry dock my turtles in the evening. I just put them in small containers with small blanket and they seem to do fine. They just sleep for the night and are fine when I put them back outside. They seen to get used to the routine. They have even stretched out their legs when sleeping for the night.
