General Care Discussion :: Transparent Egg?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I found a transparent round thing in my turtle's tank. At first, I thought it's a pearl in the bubble tea but only me and my husband live in the apartment and we wouldn't put anything like this in the tank. I suspect it is from the RES. I put it on a shedded shell to take a picture so you can see it with some colour background (please see attached). Has anyone seen something like this? What should I do now? Thanks in advance!

I am not sure that is an egg or an ovary. Are there any other creatures in the tank? Any live plants?

Hi Steve. She's the only creature in the tank. No plant as well. The tank only has some stones, the heater, a thermometer, floating dock and tubes from the filter.

Has it dried out? I haven't anything like that before.

If it happens again, capture it and separate it to see if it develops into something.

Was it rubbery, hard or mush?

How big is it? Hard to tell from photo. Do you feed your turtle fish in that tank? It kinda looks to me like the part of a fish that is used for floating/balance. Fish control their buoyancy by inflating/deflating it, allowing them to rise or sink, and keeps them upright. But I'm just guessing.
