I live in Mumbai (scorching in the summers because of the added humidity
Since he's growing up now, I figured it would be better to start lowering the temperature to about 24 degrees C (75 degrees F). Since the ambient temperature here is always 28 degrees in summer, I lowered it to 25 (77 F) with some fridge water (I don't know how else), measured the temp and let my turtle in.
5 seconds later I check on him(her) to find him up on the basking area close to the warmest area, and he stayed up there for 4-5 hours (his average is about 3 hours a day).
Since I live in India, it will be easier to keep the temperature range higher since the ambient temperature is much higher, but I want what's best for my little guy. Will maintaining the previous temperatures lead to problems long term? Should I make my bae stay in the colder water until he gets used to it? How gradual must the transition be for my turt to be comfy?
P.S. Please send me the link if this topic is already posted, I searched but I couldn't find a similar post. Sorry if I'm being fussy about silly stuff.
