General Care Discussion :: Swollen eyes RES not eating.

Hi guys this is my first post here. i know there are many experts here so i came here with my query.
My baby RES got swollen eyes, he got swollen eyes from past 15 days.. I took him to the vet but i guess the vet does not know much about turtles. I took my RES to the vet he gave me an ointment to apply on his eyes but no good. Last week the vet injected saline and gave an eyedrop but no good. Now he just sleeps does not move much, he moves sometime but his eyes are shut and he did not eat from past 5 days. so what can i do to feed him?
The vet told me not to keep him in tank except when feeding him but he never eats.
I got a 30 gallon tank, basking spot, i cant seems to find UVB lamp in india so keep him in direct sunlight for 20 mins daily..
please any solution?

Welcome to the forum. The turtle sounds like he's in very serious condition. It's very difficult with baby RES because treatment decisions need to be made quickly. If he cannot see, he will not really want to eat.

Apply some cod liver oil to the eyes. Soak him in a small container made of 50% water / 50% Pedialyte and some crumbled up pellets. Pedialyte is a solution given to children who are dehydrated, you might have to find something equivalent.

Does he perk up in the sunlight?

okay ill try what you said. when i keep him in the direct sunlight, he just runs away..
the vet told me to bring the turtle to him to give him saline in every 10 days. is it must?

Honestly, I don't know what the saline would do for him. He needs nutrition.

AVE YOU PURCHUSED TURTLE EYEDROPS FROM THE PET STORE FIRST OF ALL THEYER AROUND 10$ I KEEP SOME AROUND FOR EMERGANCIES AND ONCE IN AWHILE PUT A FEW IN HER EYES JUST TO KEEP HER HEALTHY. COULD IT BE THE TANK ISNT CLEAN AND YOUR RES LIVING CONDITIONS ARENT ADQUAINT OR PERHAPS WHAT YOUER USING TO CLEAN THE TANK WITH ISNT HEALTHY AND YOUR TURTLES GETTING SICK FROM IT. ANOTHER POSSIBILTY IS A RESPIRTORY INFECTION WHICH IS CAUSED BY PERHAPS AIR CONDITINOR OR FAN MAKING YOUR TURTLE COLD FOR LONG PRIODS OF TIME A TRUE SIGN OF A RESPIRTORY INFECTION IS SWOLLEN EYES AND NOT EATING YOU CAN CURE YOUR TURTLE ' BY RAISING THE HEAT
