Theres this white part on his shell im not sure what it is. It doesnt look like any sort of shell rot. I was thinking it might be a scar or something like that because it looks like its on the surface and it looks like it peels off but i tried to brush it off with a toothbrush and it didnt work, any help would be appreciated.

if it has anything to do with my setup its a 40 gallon wide water temp is 78-80 and basking temp is 90-96. My filter is a fluval 405 (recently acquired)

How long has he had the spot?

The basking temp is a little high---steady in the range of 88-90F, at least around 90F constantly would be better.

thats weird when i click on it it shows the picture. but the spots been there for about a month, ever since i got the little guy. Im gonna take my basking lot farther away so its not as hot, maybe thats why they arent basking a whole lot.
