   Please help me all!!!! I have a RES who is male and is about 3 years old. Today I was cleaning his tank and he was out of water for about half an hour, maby more, when I was ready to put him back in, i noticed white dots on the top of his shell!!!!

I do not think it was air bubbles form a scute about to fall off, because i couldn't move them around with my finger nail. I put him back in the water and they are still there. I dont think it was a mineral deposit aswell because there was no bumps on the shell I could scratch off.

What are some more sypmtoms of shell rot? The white dots are about as big as this " O " to about as small as this " . ".....Please help me!!!!!

I moved this topic from urgent care. I also do not know why you have this as a poll question, but I suggest you search the forum for other "White Spot" topics. There are many such topics regarding that subject.

And as usual, a picture of the problem may help.

By white dots, are there a lot? Can you post a pic of the shell dry?

Compare what your turtle has with the pics at: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/medshell.htm Is it anything like that?

I seriously doubt that stress would give a turtle spots on the shell like you described. Perhaps it was from something that was in the tank?
