My RES is about 4 inches long, and he/she keeps eating at the turtle dock, I feed the turtle enough, but how can I keep him from eating at the turtle dock, I have to keep buying a new one becasue he/she wont stop eating it, and it is making the tank a total mess.....

BTW, is it possible to tell the sex of my turtle at about 4 inches?

At 4 inches you can, if that is 4 inches of straight length shell. Look for a longer thicker tale for the males, as well as long front claws.

I don't have a solution for the dock, other than making sure there is a supply of fresh veggies to munch on instead. Or maybe a different kind of dock is in order.

You can add some cuttlebone to the diet and I would look for a different dock.

Get a different dock, maybe one that is made of plastic. And get used to the constant biting....anything I put in with my RES gets bite marks in it eventually and trust me, my turtle does not need to eat more than I give her.

If the front claws on your turtle are unusually long, it's a boy!
