General Care Discussion :: Turtle-friendly shelters?

I don't understand this whole hurricane shelter thing-

Pet-friendly shelters say they will accept dogs, cats, birds, and other pocket animals, but never mentioned reptiles. If a category 3, 4, or 5 hurricane arrives, will these places accept a bunch of turtles in a container?

And do these places require paperwork to enter, because it is confirmed they will ask for papers with dogs and cats.

Do you have a designated shelter for your town? Can you contact them? Maybe ask a local veterinary about this? I would think that after last year they should have some decent info available.
