Image

looks like a painted to me..
i was surprized to see him because i didnt know they were native in my area...

and just to let you know.. i played with him for a little while and then took him deep back into the woods (behind the parking lot) so that he wouldnt get hit by any cars...

he was such a cutie... really friendly too!

He's pretty cute! I'm glad you put him back. I had to do that the other day too. We had a box turtle in our driveway. I wanted to keep him, lol.

I love it when I find a turtle out of the blue like that. Thanks for sharing with us. He/she is really pretty.

That's a nice looking Eastern Painted you found. :) They are indeed native to your area.

Beautiful turtle. I saw a box turtle by a puddle the other day when I was horseback riding. I don't know what kind he/she was but it was beautiful. It had the brightest orange pattern on its head/shell that I've ever seen. I wish I had gotten a pic but I didn't have a camera with me.
