What sort of pH should I be looking for my turtle tank? Anyone have any experience or references for this?

According to Dr. Larry White, a well-known turtle specialist, the ideal pH for a turtle's water is 6- 6.5. He told me this himself a few weeks ago.

RES can tolerate a somewhat wider range of ph than some other species. I have the ph at 7 and have had no problems. Some say that slightly acidic water is better in preventing shell problems, but I've also read the opposite.
