HI I HAVE 2 LITTLE TURTLES AND I LET THEM OUT SIDE ON SUMMERS AND SPRING BUT I NEVER DO IT ON A WINTER OR FALL IS IS OKAY FOR WHEN ITS FALL YOU CAN LET THEM OUT WHENS ITS SUNNY......PLEASE HELP ME AND TELL ME ASAP THANK YOU ANGEE

It all depends on where you live. It's not good to take them out when the temps are low.. I'd say no lower than 70 and sunny. Others may say differently

warm water is a definate here. The temp of the water should be 78-80* for a hatchling, and 76ish for an adult. You will need a water heater asap. What is the temp in the tank now?

Do you have a basking area and light by the way?

If the water is too cool, they'll become inactive and won't want to eat. And they're be more susceptible to getting ill. Get a submersible water heater to keep the water warm when it's cool/cold outside.

The only time I take Sheba outside is when it is 70 degrees, and that is only because I take her for a walk. I never leave her outside by herself. She lives in her aquarium inside the house.

A long time ago, I had a very small turtle who died from pneumonia because her water was too cold. The water temperature was around 64 degrees and she died because of it. This really broke my heart.

Don't take the chance. Make sure your turtle has a water heater & keep the water around 76-78 degrees. Heaters for the tank aren't expensive (usually around $20) and they can save your turtle's life!

well i have babys that are the size of a penny and one is as big as 3 big marshmellows so i put it around 80-90 but help i need a picture of a waterheater to print out and show my mom so she can buy me one and right down information someone please post a picture on what a water heater looks like PLEASEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want that temp down to the underside of 80, 90 and your going to boil them. Remember they are cold blooded, so they are as warm as their environment.

bri456789... you really need to stop double posting questions. Keep the info in one place so that everyone answers there instead of bouncing all over the place answering the same questions.

The picture that was shown is the right kind of heater you'd need for your turtles. I'm not sure what you think you need but some how I think you're a bit confused.

bri - your not going to get a heater that heats only at night, hell it's 4:15 am here and my heater just went on for about 2 minutes. It's off now. It happens all times of the day, but i think now just because i had my fan on (it's november and 63 degrees at 2am dang!)

Look at e-bay and find one to your liking, try keeping in mind that you can tell your mom pick up a recommended brand by the pet store in xxx wattage. 5 watts per gallon!

The underwater heaters work 24 hours a day to keep *constant* temperature.
