How do I know how old my babies are. I did not buy them from anyone who could give me any information at all. Thanks.

First of all, a good piece of help would be if you told us how big they are, or how long their shells are from head to tail.

Generally, hatchlings are under a year old, and are 1-2 inches. They have green shells, and as they age, the shells become darker, into brown.

they are small, only about 2 inches if that. and really really green. does that help

Mine are 6-7 months old and are currently 2.9 inches in length (shell length, not including head/tail).

Unfortunately all turtles grow at different rates and their care plays a big part in it.

If I had to hazard a guess judging by the age of mine when they were about 2 inches, I'd say about 3.5 - 4 months.

Don't quote me on that though, there is a lot of room for error when judging the age of turtles.

Unless you got your turtles as soon as they hatched, there is no way to know how old they are. You can't tell by the rings on their shell, you can't tell by their size.. genetics, what they were feed and other factors play a part in their size. All you can do is guesstimate or go by how long you've had them.
