I was cleaning my tank yesterday and when i went to return my RES to its respectiable home i noticed that the bottom of his shell (belly) was flaking. I don't know if this is normal i think it is but can someone help me with this plz.

It's always best to post a picture when asking shell questions so everyone can see what you're talking about. It sounds to me like the shell is shedding which is completely normal and a good sign that the turtle is growing well.

Yeah, I agree, unless it looks completely weird and different, the plastron also sheds like the scutes on the carapace.
