Baby, Is green, her shell is different then the red eared more domed at the top. Her head and neck are different, neck is long and slinder, head small. Feet and legs are different. She has small orange dots on her legs and neck. She is not a painted turtle, she may be related to them.
I never found any photos of this turtle, she may be 3 to five years of age.
She is a cute little turtle, she has grown some but not as fast as the red ears. She sure like to eat.

It COLD in New York the last few Days, the big chill.
Later today, this afternon I will see if I can get some photos. I have take my Mom to Doctors this morning. When I have time I will check out the photo bucket, from What I have heard it not all that easy for us older folks.

Hey Evelyn, I'm no spring chicken - retiree as a matter of fact - and machinery impaired to boot - but I was able to figure out photo bucket. I just followed the directions. If you get stuck let me know since I only recently went through my learning curve!

Hi Sports Mama,
I am a young 62, almost 63. I only started using the computer in the last four years. Oh well. I did take some photos of Baby, she is getting to be big her.
This afternoon I check out my turtles , I have to do some work on getting them in better shape. Buy some new lights, after wail they lose there benefical rays. Maybe add some better thing to their diet. I was wondering is they would benefit from fatty acids. God my spelling is bad. The two big turtles love salmon, Makes big mess in tank. My dog gets fatty acids every day, did wonders for his skin. I would hard to use with the turtle on a daily bases. Evelyn from the land of the lost.

Well, Evelyn, I would say we are peers!

I don't know about those fatty acids. Turtles' dietary needs are really different from mammels. What they usually need supplements of is calcium. A very good way to provide calcium is with cuttlebones - the same sort that go in bird cages. Turtles love to nibble on cuttlebones.

Here's a link on diet. Diet is very important over the long term. The basis should be good turtle pellets, supplemented with green leafy things and an occasional treat like salmon.
