General Care Discussion :: Rescue Sites

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Fri Feb 09, 2007 11:46 am   Rescue Sites

Hi All, I checked out some of the rescue sites for turtles. I am so GLAD these groups are out there. I looked at some of the Photos, I could have adopted a couple. Something to think about before buying a turltle, adopt one that needs a home and some loving care.
Well anyway I sent an hour trying to find a picture of my turtle Baby. I think she is some type of wood turtle, what kind ?????
Happy Turtleing to you all,
Evelyn

What does your turtle look like (a picture says a thousand words...)?

Here are a couple of major sites that have a variety of images:

Anyway, you should find out what kind you have because your turtle may require very specialized care/habitat requirements. Could you even show him to someone at your local pet store?

Hi Steve,
I sent a photo to you did you get it ?
I just look on the sites you posted, a no find.
Baby looks a little like a California wood turtle or South America wood turtle.
It is hard to tell because of the difference in ages of the turtle.
Like the red ear babies look different then adults.
Well any way I am really enjoying see all these beautiful turtle.
I doubt the pet shops were I live could help. Maybe the shops in the city but Queens forget it. I bought the turtle in For Birds Only on Long Island and looked though the book there, Baby was very young then, so was I.
