I have had my turtle which I got as a hatchling for a year. I don't hold him (her/it/whatever) very often, but when I do he is pretty quick to come out of his shell. He pokes his head up (like E.T. hehe) and looks around at what is going on while he sits in the palm of my hand. Finally he'll get bored and try to run away. He has never opened his mouth around me, but I don't know if that means he's not a biter because maybe he's just still too small. When I come into the room and he is basking, he usually just opens his eyes and glares at me. If I really get up and stare he will dive into the water, but will usually swim straight to the front afterwards to beg for treats. It seems to me like he is fairly happy and outgoing to me. How does he stack up to most? :)
