Hi,

When I walked into my classroom this morning, Buddy's front legs had "fully shedded." In fact, pieces were hanging onto the legs, and it looks as though he was holding a piece of tissue. He's had minor shedding before, but never this "excessively." Is this normal? What caused this excessive shedding? :?

Most often the cause of excessive skin shedding is too warm temperatures. What's the temperature of the water? basking platform? Is there no shedding at all around his head, neck and rear end?

Thanks for replying.

No, just the front legs. How could I warm up the temp. of ramp at night? Since it's in a classroom, there's no heater to heat the room at night...so I leave a 100 watt low red light on to keep the tank air warm....

What about the water temperature? Do you use a water heater?
