Habitat - Indoor :: Are my turtles bored?

I feel as though my turtles are bored. They just sit around and dont really swim. But when i come up to to tank they will swim at me and stuff. Only someimes will I see them swimming around. I have anarcharis in the tank with them and they like to play in that too. But, should I make something for them or buy something for them that they would like to play in like a hideout or soomething?lol....
Right now they have fake plants, all the basking stuff, and rocks. I have tried to make a hiding place for them but they dont like it because they can see throught the sides and it is just stupid. So what should i do that they would like? What do you have in your tank for you turtles that they really like?[/list]

If by sitting around you mean basking, and they don't have any symptoms of illness, I wouldn't worry about them being bored. It sounds like you have a fair number of objects in the tank (how big is it?). I don't have any hiding places in my tanks, the can go under their basking areas (decent size pieces of corkbark) if they want to get away from it all. And they have a number of plants (fake and real) to hang on to or swim around in, which slowly move around in the water with the current. My RES's favorite things are pretty much his rocks, a few specific ones, actually. He'll spend a good amount of time each day fluttering at them. One of my painteds is in love with the probe on the thermometer.

Some feel that having a few feeder fish in the tank for them to try to catch makes their environment more stimulating for them. I don't feel the need to do this, but it's something you could consider.

we have the little half logs for them to hide in. We don't have any fresh water plants in their tanks because they distroy the in one night.
