IS THERE A TYPE OF UVB BULB THAT IS NOT A FLUORSCENT TUBE?
IT HAS TO FIT INTO A LAMP CLAMP (like flukers 5.5 lamp clamp)

I AM NOT TALKIN ABOUT A TUBE BULB. It has to be similar to the socket. And has to be UVB.

Zoomed makes a Compact UVB Bulb that is made to fit into any standard Clamp lamp. They are kind of expensive from what I have found online from 40.00 to 45.00 Dollars. I was just informed that I will be needing this as well unfortunately.

Zoo med makes the reptisun. The 5.0 zoo med reptisun compact fluorescent is an ok bulb but it's very strong and you have to be careful not to get it too close to your turtle or it will hurt his/her eyes. It is also expensive. the reptisun 10.0 is not a good bulb for turtles as it is over the top strong.

The Repti glo is made by Hagen exo terra. The 5.0 26 watt compact fluorescent mentioned above is a good bulb and it is way cheaper - in the $12 to $13 range on-line. Here's a place you can get it:

I just got back from petsmart and I got one for around 14.00 and another Flukers Clamp lamp which is kind of small because we bought the 5.5 inch like we already have. The bulb really brightens it up a lot in Rexi's tank and seems almost too bright but I am sure it must be fine.

Ha..you're lucky.I went to petsupermarket. I already had an Industrial lamp clamp. Its about twice the size of my flukers one which is like yours 5.5. I also bought the reptisun 5.0 26watt 5% UVB for $30!!! I feel a little bad. I'm also worried because the light looks very strong and its for my 10 gallon tank so it looks a bit ridiculous. I'm worried that it might burn them or hurt there eyes I used the spacing on the instructions but it seems a bit close.

Keep a close eye on your turtles. If they seem reluctant to bask or if their eyes start looking swollen or irritated, turn the reptisun off for a few days and, after they are acting normal again, you can turn it back on but keep it a few inches further back from the basking area.
