Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

So tomorrow is my big filter purchase day and ive been putting a lot of thought into what to get ...

right now i have a 55 gallon tank with about 20 gal of water...
Im thinking if the tank is 1/2 - 3/4 full (30 - 40 gallons), could i get away with the xp2 for up to 75 gal?

You could, but you will have to clean the tank more often, then you would if you had an XP3. Also, next time you upgrade the tank, you won't be able you use the XP2, but it you get the XP3, you can take that to your next upgrade. :D

I second that! I love my xp3, and it's in a 75 gallon tank. It does fairly well at keeping up with the waste, so you should be in excellent shape when you upgrade.

Big Als currently has XP3 on sale for $89.99 plus free shipping. Sale ends soon.

I just ordered the xp3 from big als and it was a great deal. All the stores near me were selling xp's for over 100 bucks. And I agree with the others, get a xp3. It will last a lot longer.

I would get a couple packs of the Super Activated Carbon, and some of the Micro Filter pads, the white ones. I also picked up the BioChem Stars. One pack of 20 and one liter of rings was enough to fill my 3 empty compartments.

Big Als Online has been running a special on shipping, anything over $50 is free. I racked up on filters so I have about 6 months worth ;)
