Habitat - Indoor :: Final setup questions

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Ok, so I currently have everything I need to run the tank I am going to put my turtles in... my questions are mainly about temperatures...

For two adult African Sidenecks, what temperature should my water and basking area be at?

And also, at night, when my UV light goes off for the night, do I keep both my water heaters and my heating lamp on? or one or the other?

Anyway, thanks...

I was just reading about these turtles online and the water temp is supposed to be around 78-82 degrees. I would keep it around 78 if I were you. The basking temps should be around 90 degrees. Almost the same as RES.
At night you should keep your water heaters on to maintain a stable temp of 78 degrees. The water temp might get down to 77 or 76 but that will be OK. You should make sure all the lights are off so they will have time to sleep.

It would really be good if you did some research on this type of turtle...

We should always keep an open mind when people come to the forums asking for help. I fully agree that you should research your pets BEFORE purchasing them but you can never be completely sure of the events that lead to someone becoming an owner of any animal. For all I know CReeder adopted these turtles out of a horrible situation in hopes to provide them with a better home.

Even in that situation, I'd be doing some research on my own on how to care for them... (But from previous posts, I do believe that CReeder14 is not rescuing or adopting them.)
