Habitat - Indoor :: Albino RES and Red light?

I have a couple Albino RES, and I was told that I should use a red light for my turts to see so they can eat because they arent eating right now...i have 2 hatchlings. I have juveniles too, but those are doing fine. Any ideas? thanks

btw, i have a regular res in the tank as well...any ideas? is it ok for my reg res. thanks

I'm not sure what the red light has to do with albinos. They naturally have poor eyesight when they are hatchlings. You can try the ideas in the entice eating section on the main site. As for mixing turtles, regardless of size, species and origin, you should read the co-habitation section.

Is the red light an infrared one for providing more heat? If it's the red heat ones I used to use at night for added warmth, they're not supposed to affect sleep cycles (the light isn't seen).

Albinos are more sensitive to light. If you are using a red heat one for warmth, I wouldn't think it would be a problem (but doing a bit more research would be good).

Perhaps the hatchlings should be separated from the older turtles...
