Habitat - Indoor :: Stand for Tank

So i have had a terribly hard time finding a stand for my 40Breeder Tank
ALL the ones i have found have been VERY expensive and i didnt have room to put the tank on my dresser like usuall

I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION which i felt that i should share

for about $70 i found a Tank stand and made it "Pretty"

I went to HomeDepot and bought one of those industrial shelving units for peoples garages etc. which is rated for about 2000lbs when evenly distributed. This cost me $58

40gallons*5.8lbs/gal of water + 25lbs of rock +30lbs for the tank
is alot less then 2000lbs

These shelves are a PERFECT fit for my breeder tank
( had to take a hammer and -ever so slightly- bang the metal out to account for the plastic lip on the tank - but i really do mean ever so slightly)

I then went to thelocal fabric store and bought some nice fabric that matched my dining room and ran some elastic around the top of it and *poof* made a skirt to hide the ugly metal.


Here is a picture without the skirt - - i am so proud of myself and my money saving! <3

great job looks great to sure it looks really good with your skirt on it post a pic of it complete what is also great about that stand it is very strong , I have the same racks in my utility room with all my supplies on it is 2 put together. They are stackable
