I just measured my basking dock temp for the 1st time...I know I should have done it before now but I assumed it was ok because they love to bask but anyway...It was 100.2 degress....Is this too hott??? I read the sticky about this and it says it should be about 10 degrees above the temp of the water...

My water temp just now is 78.9 F
My basking dock temp right now is 100.2 F

That's quite hot, especially for hatchlings. Can you move the lamp away some? Even if you could get the temp down to 95, that would be better.

If you can't move the lamp, you can get a bulb with less wattage.

I moved the light away from the basking dock a few inches and got a 93 degree reading...Is that any better?
