Habitat - Indoor :: temperatures okay?

My digital temp. says 80 degrees in the water away from the basking area is that okay enough or too warm? Also I am using a 75 watt light that is supposed to be for reptile basking. Is that okay also?

Sounds OK, but whats the temp on the basking area? It should only be 10F warmer than the water. Also, if your thermometer has a probe thingy, make sure you have a backup since these are not always accurate.

How big are your turtles? If they're small and healthy, dropping the temp a few degrees would be good. If they're larger, then the water temp could even be a bit lower.

My turtles are very small and healthy im imagining . How would you drop the temperature? Do I have to refill the tank with cooler water? Also I'm having trouble with the basking area and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best lighting to buy and from where because mine gets just way too hot!

You should be using a good submersible water heater with an adjustable thermostat. Can you give more details/pictures of your setup?

Oh I have not bought one of those yet, the water currently is 77 degrees and the basking temperature is 90. However they seem to not want to bask anymore after I bought a UVB bulb for them. They will get up for two minutes then off very fast I don't know what the problem is! Here is a picture of my current set up until I have money for a 55 gallon tank
