anyone ever tried having one of these?. it seems like they can burn from the exposure of light. so yeah anyone have one of these?

Like cork bark? I know that some people use that without any problems. I would like to try it myself if I could find some!

i mean actual tree bark. like the tree bark off a real tree. anyone ever used one of these?

Anything that is not cork bark will eventually break up and make a mess of your water. It's good short term, but not long term. I removed all the bark from the hollow oak tree halves I used in my pond... and even that breaks up as it soaks up water. I have to rotate my tree halves so they don't dissolve and make a mess of things.

Cork bark, however.... is much much better. I wish I had more of that stuff. Nothing beats it.

Yeah, regular tree bark wouldn't work very well. It will probably rot quickly in the water, and make a big mess like johnQ said.

well yeah thats what i mean. i use a zoomed cork board for my 5 inch. i have a meat cutting board that i barely use. is that ok to use as a basking spot?

erm...i myself is a cook so i dun think MEAT cutting board will be good as they trap bacteria and oil content inside no matter how u wash it once u used it. as i read around, raw meat are not recommended to be use to feed them so that linked up? get a new one for your little/big one or buy those bark like me from your pet store. i bought them from pet store too. cheers!!

yeah, i thought about doing that, buying a new one and making a basking spot. yeah cheers
