I just purchased a new tank and I think it had been sitting in the store for a while. There was a dead fly inside the tank and a little dust. I rinsed the tank out with water. Is this enough or should I be cleaning it with something else? I'm not sure what the turtle safe cleaning methods are.

I used a 50:50 vinegar: warm water solution to wipe down the inside of my new tanks, then rinsed them best I could with water (until I couldn't smell the vinegar any more).

I used a 10% bleach solution, just a little bit, and a towel to wipe down the inside. Then I let it air dry for at least 24 hours, checking the corners to make sure they were dry.
