Habitat - Indoor :: Purchased a 100 gal tank

I recently picked up a 100 gallon tank and stand off craigslist....I practically stole it from the guy for $200 woo hoo lol.

But now I need to get a filter for it. What works best for a 100 gallon tank with two turtles in it? Also it was previously used as a salt water tank....is there anything I should clean it with before I put the turtles in there because of the salt?

for my 125 gallon tank i use a Fluval FX5.


and i'm not sure about the cleaning.
for mine which was previously used for a salt water tank
i just did the bleach solution everyone talks about on here.
worked great. no problems so far :]

Ok i will look into that...does anyone else have any suggestions?

I have one other question also. I have been reading on here about bigger tanks. I see now that I need to worry about where I place the tank. But if I am on a single level with no basement do I still need to worry about where I place it?

I've always used a vinegar/hot water mix. Worked for me, especially when I had an algae attack quite a few months back in my 55gal.

You'd need at least a Rena XP4 or Fluval FX5 for the 100gal.

does the house have a crawl space or is it on a concrete slab??....if slab, then no put it anywhere....tho i might wonder if hardwood floors might crack weird....i'm on a concrete slab with laminate/fake wood floors and the laminate hasn't cracked (i got 135g with 70-80g water in it)....if there's a crawl space i would be concerned....i'm not the person to ask tho on where/what needs to be done to accomidate
