Habitat - Indoor :: AquaSafe Drops

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I was looking around the pet section at my local Wal-Mart, and I found some of those "makes tap water safe for fish" drops by Tetra. Are they safe for turtles??? Also, I bought some Tetra Algae Control. That says not to use with invertebrates or crustaceans.

Any thoughts on either of these products and/or any other kind of turtle safe chemicals to improve the quality of tap water??? :D

If you need a dechlorinator, Repti-Safe or Aqua Nova is good. Otherwise, keeping the water clean with partial/full water changes and monitoring the water quality with testing kits (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) can be good.

I used to use a water dechlor, but I dont use it unless I am changing a ton of water.

For regular 10% water changes, I dont bother.

I have soft water but use the Repti-Safe drops. Does this mean I no longer have to use them?

Does this stuff really work with carbon in the filter. I mean thats what carbon does filters the chemicals out of the water. So unless you are only using a foam pad. I would say that stuff is useless, but I could be wrong
