Has anyone here ever tried using treated wood for their basking spot? I'm thinking about bulding my turtle a basking spot that looks like a dock, but I want to use treated wood so it lasts longer. However, I'm not sure what effect this will have on the water.

You can treat wood used for an above tank basking area, but it still can't float in the water.

If you decide to go with an ATBA, Jjust make sure after you treat the wood, that the treatment is completely dry before you use it.

If you want wood, you can always get cork bark, which can stay in the water without rotting, and without needing to be treated.
