Habitat - Indoor :: any other way?

so i just took all the rock out from my tank(went bare bottom, makes tank cleaner) but there is a lot of guppy crap and leaes from an anarchis (sorry for spelling) all over the bottom, the filters get some of it but the filter needs upgraded but it wont be until christmas. i knwo once its clean my filter cn maintain it but idk what to do to clean it, id rather nto do a full water change if i dont have to so i was wondering if anyone knew of another way to get rid of it.

Can't you just net them out? Or you can use a syphon system like Python to suck
the debris out while doing partial water change.

if it is just some debris... use a siphon... works wonders...

which python is... and it is also a water exchange system...

i just use a siphon and buckets.

no you both understood the question, its too small to net, ill try to siphon tomorrow i dont have one ill have to try to get one

any plastic flexible tube can act as a siphon... let me see if i can find the instructions i wrote to a fellow RES owner.

unless you already know how to use a siphon.

i have a siphon with a gravel cleaner. i don't use the gravel cleaner to suck up the dirt because i can't immerse the gravel cleaner all the way in the water.

the way to make the siphon work without sucking the turtle water (although i have had a drop or two splash into my mouth) is do the following..

you need a siphon (or any plastic tubing will work) and a bucket to catch the water.

to fill the siphon (tube) all the way with water w/o any air bubbles - (use the gravel cleaner here to act as a funnel and take if off after it has been filled)

both ends of the siphon should point up because you dont' want to lose the water

take your bucket and your water filled siphon to the tank.

quickly dunk one end into the tank while keeping the other end still pointed up

after one end is in the turtle tank... put the other end into the bucket to catch the water.

move the siphon around the tank to suck up debris.

your bucket needs to be in a lower level than the tank for it to work...

the siphon is definitely my best friend.

i have a siphon with a shut off value on one end so that makes it easier if i have to siphon off more than one bucket full.
