Habitat - Indoor :: is there a difference between fish and turtle filters?

Today I bough a filter for one of my turtles. My mum asked me if I asked for a turtle filter since, according to her, there's a difference between a turtle filter and a fish filter.

is that true?

The only turtle filter that I know of is a small one up to 10-20 gallons I think, and it's overpriced considering that it does the same job as a regular 'fish' filter. So the answer is no, there is no difference between the two although you do need a really good one since turtles are very messy.

I've always been told that for turtles it's best to take a filter (fish) a size larger then you should take for the tank in question. So instead of size A, you take B.
