Habitat - Indoor :: HELP MY TURTLE TANK WATER IS CLOUDY

its like kinda like gasoline when its on water that kinda thing, i don't know why this has never happened before and i've had this tank for like 2 months now is it because its winter?
also i found small air bubbles on my turtle shells but i can rub it off with a couple tries

joot - Without more information it is hard to diagnose. My philosophy is to get a larger filter that pumps more water through the filter media.

do you mean the surface of the water is cloudy? or all of the water?

Its stagnant water, i had the same thing and then I put in a bubbler. Do you feed your turt in his tank?

What color is it , and what color was your Sabrina .

Looked like oil on the water, kind of smokey looking. And if you swept your finger along the water you would get filmy residue on your finger

It's oil, most likely from pellets and other uneaten food. If you can, move the output so that it agitates the surface of the water more.

That happened to me too. I wasnt able to get the regular food that i feed my turtles and i decided to get the colored kind. it turned my tank so cloudy. i brought the food rite back to the store and got diffrent stuff.

^ a and c why not just feed them in a separate container?? That what i do it helps me go longer without water changes..

Agitating the surface only masks the problem. You still have oil in the water.
For this issue i bought an attachment for my canister intake that takes water from the bottom, and from the surface like a skimmer.
If you have a siphon to do water changes, just keep it on the surface so you skim the oil out.
