Habitat - Indoor :: Correct/best water temperature range?

I'm not sure about this, there seems to be some inconsistency from the forum and water quality section on the site regarding proper water temperature.

From the forum, that posts says that water temperature should be kept at 72-75 degrees F, but on the site it says 75-78 degrees F, so which one is the better range?

Right now I have my water temperature at 77-79 F(usually during the day when the temperature rises in room temperature), is this too warm?

The higher water temps are for hatchlings (baby turtles). For older turtles, 74-76 degrees is fine.

77-79 is pretty warm. That's usually the temperature for sick turtles, try 74 or 75 degrees. It gives area for fluxuation. How large are your turtles?

Water temperature needs to be accurately monitored and controlled. There are a variety of thermometers available made specifically to be used in water. They are all easy to use and having one is absolutely necessary. Placing another one at the opposite end of a tank would be ideal. A submersible water heater is necessary to maintain the preferred constant water temperature range of 78-80 degrees F for hatchlings and 75-78 degrees F for adults.

My turtles are 7 to 11 inches big.

So on the water quality page it says 75-78 degrees F, is the sticky at the top of this forum inaccurate?

The sticky was written by someone else's perspective. This type of care information will vary, but as you can see, it will vary slightly here. As you can see, 75F would be the ideal target with about a 3 degree range. I usually keep my water around 78F, and my RES are over 3 years old.

Within a certain range, I think it depends also to what a turtle becomes used to (assuming the turtle is healthy to begin with). My 4+ year-old RES is quite happy in 69-70F water.
