Habitat - Indoor :: Cork Tiles

I am in the process of building a basking site from bending perspex sheeting and think the results will be pleasing when the job is finished. I intend to sunbmit a photo when completed .

HOWEVER

Reading through these columns alot of contributors favor Cork BARK as a suitable surface. I have access to cork FLOORING tiles and like the idea as it will give my tank a natural feel to it.

Does anyone envisage any problems with using cork tiles as a basking material ramped into the water?

idk about cork tiles, but Grey Goose set up a ramp and shallow basking area with tiles, you might want to check that out.

Have the tiles been treated with anything? If so, I wouldn't use them, especially if they're going to get wet (could leach whatever they're treated with into the water).

I do use corkbark in all my turts tanks, but it's virgin corkbark (untreated) sold specifically for reptiles.
