Habitat - Indoor :: plexiglass braces?

I'm sitting here watching Napoleon repeatedly climb up onto his floating dock, crawl to the edge and get tipped off. I think he may be just slightly too heavy for it.

I work in a frame shop, so I have access to plexiglass and i do have the ability to bend it. I'm thinking about making an L shape and using aquarium silicone to attach it to the bottom of the dock, so it would still float, but would stay perpendicular to the wall. My question is: is plain old plexiglass safe to have in the tank? Does anyone have other ideas?

Plexiglass is fine to use in the tank. I've made ledges out of it and I've seen pics of people who have made complete basking areas out of it.

When using aquarium silicone make sure both surfaces are clean and dry, and let it cure for at least 24 hours, 48 is better before placing back into the tank. Also make sure there is no excess that your turt can get to and eat.....

Yup, plexiglas is totally safe! Use away!

i have used plexiglas and have put the bay dock on it BUT have folded the material upwards and attached it to the top of the tank. My turts love it.

The reason why I folded the plexiglass upwards is that Mark I folded downwards as you suggest and my turts seemed to PANIC when they hit an invisible wall and it also gives them more room to swim.

Agree with Grey goose to leave the adhesive 48hrs b4 using it and have PLENTY of ventilation. That stuff stinks.
