Habitat - Indoor :: Possible New Tank, Comments.

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hey gang,
I'm looking on Craig's List in my area, and I came across a 70 gallon tank with stand for 75 bucks. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/for/267744551.html

Here are the dimentions of the tank; 48x13x20. I'm a little concerned that this is too narrow, though the person who had it used to have turtles. Sputnik's current terrarium is much wider than that, though not nearly as deep.

I'd like to hear your comments. Thanks,
Branden

um... I don't mean to be a negitive nancy here, but that tank's dimension's place it at 54 gallons. i have a 75 gallon, and it's 48/18/21. I would say the seller either hasn't measured carefully, or doesn't know how many gallons the tank is, and just guessed.

It's a commericial 55 gallon aquarium. This couldn't be a permanent enclosure for even one turtle, so I wouldn't reccomend you drop the money on it.

Thanks. I had already made up my mind by the end of last night. Way too thin to be a turtle tank. It looked like a steal at the time, and the price was blinding my judgement. That's why we post here for the outsiders perspective.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a 90 gallon one like GreyGoose has. Craig's List is my new home.
