99.9% of the time, no. Unless it clearly states provides a certain percentage of UVB do not trust that it provides the beneficial UVB rays. I mean, if it did, I'm sure the manufacturer would boast about it right?
Yeah, I used one of those "full spectrum" bulbs for about 2 years until I learned better, and Spot's shell is a real mess - it will take years to correct.
the exo-terra lights have little graphs on the side that show uv output. it also comes with a nifty reminder sticker that tells you when to replace the bulb. it clearly states everything on the package, so you'll know what you're getting instead of playing guessing games

I have used the Full Spectrum lighting for years. So far I have not had a problem.
I used them in my bird room for years. Now all my plants are under this type of lighting to. My Christmas cactus finally bloomed for the first.
I used to buy the lights form a company a dozen at a time or from my bird club. Now the bird people say the one from Home Depot are just fine.
This summer I plan to take the turtle out side for the real sun. I just never had the time before.
