Habitat - Indoor :: POOPAH SCOOPAH!!!

hi guys here i am again with a new idea to go with my others. i have decided to invent a poop scoop for my turtle tank. i have no gravel or stones in the bottom so i am plotting a sort of sucker to clean the tank when necesary. i have a design already and will unveil it when i improve it a bit more. the first trial run went well and my tank is clean and clear. what are your views on the idea? all feedback is welcome. hhhhmmmm a handle is what i need next. any way bye for now

alot of people use turkey basters or power vacs so im not so sure how it would be if it were on the market since basters are pretty cheap

i will post pitures asao when i smooth out the creases. this idea is mains powered and doesnt cost much to build. the problem with basters is you have to keep dipping it in and out with maybe one turd at a time. this device you just move around the entire area lice a vacuum cleaner.

and you dont loose any water which is an added bonus. hope fully my turt will mess some more by tomorrow then i can get a vid too

does it work like one of those? i have one and i love it. the only down side is its not cheap so if you can find away to make one that works good and that is cheap alot of people on here would like it.

poo is less dense than sand if thats what you mean.

eerrm yes thats it i think im hoping this poopa scoopa wont suck up sand. tbh i dont think it will. i dont have sand or gravel in my turt tank any more i got sick of cleaning the gravel and have never tried sand.

but yes if it is less dence then it should be lighter (i think).

ok so heres the pics of what i did so far.

first i found a sucky thing.. (an old filter from a small tank i discovered in the back lane)



next i stole one of my daughters toys to use as a holder (for this i stole one of her leggo's, a boat).



to get the filter into the boat i had to sever its only limb. it was the bit where the man in the boat sits (pun intended)



with the help of some aqua sealent i stuck them both together



so now i have this



as i mentioned the first test run it worked well. i need to tweek it a bit and then i will upload some more pics or you guys to see


btw does any one know how i put actuall pics on my posts insead of links????????????????
