Well, the 125 is the same height as the 120, but if you would be better off getting a 48" wide tank to put in your existing spot, then wait for that deal.

Oh yeah, same height, duh. Well what I meant is that I'd rather have a shorter, wider tank than a longer, narrower tank.

I check Craigslist all the time. And there is a local petstore by me that has had a 120g w/stand tank FOREVER that they can't sell and they keep lowering the price on it. I think it's down to $699 right now. So maybe they will go even lower on it.

That's still pretty pricey. If you still have lots of time to wait before needing an upgrade, my target price would be $1 per gallon plus $100 for the stand. I ended up with a 135 gallon for $135, and paid $25 to a separate seller for a solid wood cabinet thing that was perfect as a stand. The only "bad" thing is that the stand is so well built that it weighs 400 pounds (they loaded it into my truck with a forklift ), and I had to put the tank in a room with a concrete floor.

Gosh! That's heavy! I'm eventually getting a 55/75 gallon stand for $80 at Wal-Mart.

I agree with waiting for the tank you want. It's your animal so you, obviously, have the final say. I only prefer the longer tank because it makes it easier for me to see my little turtle.

By the by, $699 is a great deal for a new tank that size. Would say wait and see if it'll drop below $500 though. Or, if it's possible, go in with the cash amount you're willing to pay and tell them it's all you can afford. Managers usually drop the advertised price for cash payments; as long as it's a reasonable offer, that is.
