you'd be surprised how affordable a lot of stuff is. one of my favourite shows is hgtv's hidden potential where they find a house that's just a complete mess w/ the floorplan, show what can be done with it and give you estimations. a lot of the times i'm surprised at how small the cost is.

plumbing is the most expensive, but ponds tend to be of the pump variety, so there goes most of the cost right there.

i'll have to see if my sims2 will allow me to draw out that plan i have in my head. i've even built an entire house around the pond enclosure (in my head). i do seriously need to work on those floorplans anyway.
