Unfortunately, filters are filtering the water and are not really designed to pick up stuff off the bottom. You can get the stuff off the bottom with a net, with a turkey baster, or with a little battery powered device that's designed to pick up stuff off the bottom.

Also, minnows or ghost shrimp are pretty good about cleaning up stuff off the bottom.

Also, there's something called Turtle Clean, which is a liquid that you put in the water that helps break down turtle waste. Once the solid waste has broken down the XP3 can pick it up.

Backgrounds, home made or even cheap ones, ALWAYS make a tank look nicer, it gives it some depth....

Finally i got my UVB light but for some reason it had a piece of plastic over the light so i was wondering if the plastic thing would block the UVB rays :?

Do you mean the fixture that holds the lamp?

As you can see there is a piece of plastic over the light bulb(not the thing that holds it together)

If you read the stuff on the box it says what it is (the light came with the holder thing)

And here is a pic of squirt acting like an alligator :)

Ah good ol' ESU aka Coralife! Leave it to those idiots to sell a UV lamp with a plastic shield that filters out the UV. :? That's really pathetic. Sorry for the rant but I really can't stand that company. They have made and sold so many different pieces of either worthless or unreliable garbage, i don't know why they are still in business.

Ok, I'm finished, rant over... You should remove the plastic cover as it will filter out the UV light and prevent it from benefitting your turtles. I really like that picture of your turtle cruising the surface. :D

Print out pictures from your computer and tape them to the back of the tank.

You could. Or you could just print them out again and replace the old one. :) I think someone printed out a picture of some river rocks and when they put a bunch of them together it looked like a wall of rocks. It was pretty neat looking.
