Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Sorry it took me so long. My weekend was ridiculously busy. Here's the pics for you:
My whole tank:

Here's one side. We used clear tubing but I recommend using the opaque kind. I think it slows down the algae growth inside the tubes. We got the tubing and the new suction cups from home depot. We cut everything the length using scissors and used zip ties to secure things where needed.
Image

I hope that helps. If you need better pics, just let me know and I can retake whatever you need.

On the left is outtake, right is intake. We were able to make the intake longer because we didn't need any pieces for the outtake (besides the spray bar obviously).
Image

And here's that same outtake. You can also see the powerhead. All of the black and grey pieces came with the filter. We just used tubing to extend it all the way to the bottom of the tank.
Image

Here's the only piece we had to make. We wanted a u-shaped plastic piece to go over the edge in order to avoid any kinking but we couldnt find one. So we had to make this using pvc pipe. It was a white pvc female/female piece with the clear male piece screwed into it. We used plumbers tape around the connection to prevent leaking. There's another male piece on the inside of the tank. The plumber's tape and zipties were from the depot as well. We redid our filtration a few weeks ago and you can see how nasty it looks now.
Image

This didn't come out clearly, but you can see the inside of the U-shaped piece looks the same on both sides. The pieces for the intake were all from rena.

And here's the piping connected to the filter. I think we used 3/8'' tubing. But check and make sure. It fits really snuggly and we haven't had any issues yet.

Awesome, that helps a ton, I probably will need to make that same piece you did, also using the spray bar like that seems like a decent idea. I know my guy isnt much of a fan of swimming in front of my current output, it creates a good amount of flow that will push him away.

My turtle likes swimming in the current. As long as your guy isn't getting stuck somewhere by the outflow, then he should be fine ;)

yeah he seems to like doing it once he remembers its there. Normally he is just trying to get to the surface when he hits it, then after he gets pushed across the tank he tries to fight back against it, looks like he's having fun. I like the flow that I have in my tank, I just want it to start close to the sand and maybe get the waste moving towards the intake. He's been chowing down on some zucchini which seems to leave him with rather green waste, which is a huge contrast to the purple sand =D
