Habitat - Indoor :: New tank *** Now with pics... not good ones***

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I'm really excited so I thought I would share.

Will and I decided to go to Plano Pets (a local family owned pet store) for my birthday outing. While we were there we saw a 125 gallon salt water tank for a good price. When the owner saw us scoping it out he asked us what we were looking for, so we told him about wanting to upgrade Mikey. Well, after a bit of haggling, he agreed to order us a fresh water 125 gallon tank, stand, hoods, and filter (and have it delivered) for about the same price as just the salt water tank alone. So.... WOOT! We're excited. One week from today, on the 19th, Mikey is getting upgraded to a 125 gallon tank with two XP3's and 2 heaters, the whole 9. We've already rearranged our entire living room to fit the tank in. We are now, officially, out of room  but Mikey is gonna love it.

This brings our collection to one 125 gallon, one 55 gallon, and three 10 gallons.

*** We also bought a python, because there's no way I'm filling that sucker up with a 5 gallon bucket ****

YAY!! Mikey's tank came yesterday and he's all set up. It's filled half way (until we secure the top), has 2 XP3's, and two heaters. It's so beautiful. I'll see if I can take pics today.

Well, it's true, I managed to snap some pics with an old camera (the camera I was using before was taken back by it's 'rightful' owner). So, here you go:

The guy ordered the wrong hoods so we have it covered with towels for the moment, we should have hoods in about a week.

Thanks :D Mikey loves it! Towards the end of the 55 gallon, Mikey was constantly trying to climb out, now he's really busy exploring. This tank is more than twice the size of his old one.

What a nice tank! Just make sure Mikey can't get stuck in any of the cave and column openings you have in your decorations-- turtles aren't very good at "eye-balling" how large a space is and deciding if they can fit through it or not, making some holes a drowning danger.
