Habitat - Indoor :: Suggest me a canister filter - that won't break the bank!

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Post Posted: Thu Nov 01, 2007 12:37 am   Suggest me a canister filter - that won't break the bank!

Well, after reading through the sticky I need a filter that x2 the gallons of water in my tank. I currently have a 70 gallon tank with an AquaClear filter.

Looking to get a canister filter, but I don't have a ton of money - and I doubt my parents would want to buy me a 300-400$ filter for christmas.

So yeah, 70 gallon tank, need an affordable, decent canister filter.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have one XP3 on a 110 gallon tank with 2 turtles and it keeps it crystal clear for a good 2 months. Definetely go with the XP3, nothing is cheaper.

Drsfostersmith - $103.99 You'll have to contact them for a shipping quote for international shipping.

I think there were other sites but I don't remember them.

Sound big als canadian. Turns out the XP3 is 100$ more on the Canadian site. (Seems like BS considering our dollar is well, worth more than the US now)

189$

Free shipping though, guess thats a plus. Still if I order its..Total: $ 214.69 CAD

That's a huge jump, I paid $135 for the XP3 and 2 Bags of Ceramic Rings shipped to my door. Also had a $12 discount for something. I forgot what though. so I paid $123.

Try drsfostersmith.

I don't know if this is a decent company or not, I'd research it first.

J&L Aquatics is a very reputable store here in Burnaby, BC. They specialize in Marine aquariums though, and don't have much for turtles beyond tanks and filters. If you live in Canada they are definitely one of the better places to order from. For the Americans, you can probably find stuff cheaper south of the border.
