I have a res in a 30 gallon tank and she seems fine with it. It is kind of small for her, but it works.

Are you asking where to get a 29-gallon tank or are you asking what kind of container you can use that's about the size of a 29-gallon tank or are you asking for ideas on how to decorate/what to put in a 29-gallon tank you already have?

What size is your turtle (shell length without the curve)?

Some fake plants (you could occasionally put some aquatic plants like anachris for him to nibble on as well) and some smooth rivers rocks large enough so he can't eat them (you don't need to cover the bottom with them, just enough to add some interest and give him something to push around) are what people often put in their tanks, at least to start out with. Perhaps some of the pictures in the Photo Gallery could give you more ideas.

I actually got a sheet of those gummy stick on glass decoration thingies for a Christmas present, they were snow flakes, I stuck them to the outside of my tank and now whenever he swims by, his interest is perked for a moment. As for what to put inside, get creative, although I recommend figuring out your basking area first before buying too much stuff. You can put in anything you want, a pirate theme, an ancient ruins theme, a natural theme, but just remember a few things. Don't add anything with holes large enough that he could get stuck inside or be tempted to try to get in and get stuck. Be careful that if he decides to dive off of his basking area, he doesn't hit an object (he can break pieces of his head that way!). And nothing that he might want to eat, like gravel. I personally like the glass drops that I got at Walmart that are shaped like a U. River rocks are good too. Real plants have to be edible and not too costly cuz they will eat them.

They wont when they are small, i acctually store my feeder fish in my baby turtles tank kinda as a fridge for the adults but when they are big enough they will eat them... They might stick around for a little while but eventually your turtle will eay them...

I went and got the biggest sucker fish I could find he was about 7 inches and cost 12 bucks and his name was Hank....Hank lasted 2 days.
I came home from work and all that was left was his skull it was picked clean. The only live things that go into Monkeys tank now are feeder fish.
Female RES named Monkey.
Male Blue Heeler (Mad Max dog) named Frankenstein.

They all speak the truth!~ My two babies had lived with an algae eater in their tank for a year and I was convinced that they would never eat it. They were friends and the fish would ride around on their shells! Last week they ate it. I mean ate every last bite - nothing left but a memory! Something changed in their opinion of their "buddy". Its true - they will eventually eat anything and everything live you put in their tank.
