It looks good, great really. The basking area is very nice, where did you get it?

My only critique would be the reptofilter. They tend to not be the best suited filters for the amount of waste turtles produce so you may want to look into upgrading in the future.

He looks so little sitting up there. Your setup looks really nice. Good creative use of that piece of wood. I have to agree with meg about needing to upgrade the filter soon. For now though I'm sure it'll do the job for your lil guy.

I agree with you guys about the filter, even now it is a little wimpy. For the time being I will be saving up for a nice Fluval, and hopefully be able to get it some time in the early fall

I got the log from petco. Its mopani wood which is dense and sinks. The few drawbacks are that it has to be excessively cleaned and soaked at first to get rid of the tannic acid that makes the water look like tea and there was a strange appearance of fungus or lichens or something for a while. But after you get over that initial hurdle, it works well and little turtle claws can grab and hang onto it nicely

his basking area is around 90 degrees. I tried just using the mercury light for a few days but he likes to bask more and for longer ammounts of time when I have both lights.

I couldnt tell you why for the life of me  maybe he is just a picky turtle :)
