Habitat - Indoor :: Fluval405 vs. Cascade1000

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Yesterday I went to petco to look into getting a new canister filter to replace the filter I have now (The dinky tetrafauna corner waterfall filter POS). Anyways, the petco staff told me that a cascade 1000 fliter was equal if not better than the fluval 405.

Has anybody tried both? Opinions on either are welcome and appreciated

Not tried both, but I hear a lot more good about the 405 than the cascade.
I seem to hear a lot of priming problems, noisy, etc with the cascades. This may have been isolated experiences, but reading reviews on different sites, it seems as though the cascade has problems.

Any particular reason you aren't considering a Rena?

Have worked with a Rena before with a 150gal saltwater aquarium. The brand is hard to get around where I live meaning everything would have to be ordered online :?

Same situation here. I hear a lot of complaints about the cascades.
