Habitat - Indoor :: Fish

Okay guys it's me again, sorry to be spamming all of you like this but god I love learning and sharing so why not right?

I have read some of the threads about fish and am just wondering about good, and fast cleaner fish. I know not to spend money on something I care about that can get eaten, I just want to know what would help clean my tank along with my filter and plants.

Forgot to mention I saw some people use/d plecos or chinese algae eaters, and I'd prefer to keep the fish on the tiny side since I read up and saw that both of these can get pretty big.

Get a bristlenose pleco - they stay small or an L129

I have heard they are good and stay small. Remember there is always a risk your turtle will eat it. And plecos/catfish have boney plates for scales. There are cases of turtles getting hurt trying to eat them. That said I have one in my tank and he is a worker bee!

You could also try mystery snails. Again they could be a snack.

ive had 2 plecos. one small and one big. i also have had 2 mystery snails. they have all been eaten but when they were alive they did a good job

Yeah, I was wondering about chinese algae eaters myself. Are they a better bet since they're not bony/spiny like plecos?

I've used one of those big smooth greyish-colored algae eaters and I liked him.

I also used a snail, who became a meal.

Ah, what the heck, I'll jump in this convo too.

In the aquarium at school, its all fish but still, they have a "sucker" (I think thats what they are called) that is about 5 or 6 inches long, I wonder how that would work out, and how it would get along with an RES.

Thanks for the ideas, but since you said plecos have spiny scales, I'd like to stray to something a bit safer incase Crush does decide to eat it. I would also like something a bit fast so it has a chance not be eaten

I have like three or four pleco's and I had two snails. The snails died because they never came out of the cave, the plecos all got eaten. So we've given up
